Building Group 7 at the Citadel of Erbil

Conservation and Restoration Works on Building Group 7 within the Citadel of Erbil which includes 3 Houses , Project Scope of works was retrieving the courtyard shapes , rehabilitation of the facades , wooden columns &beams , restoration of concrete blocks & walls and removal where needed, Vertical and horizontal strengthening of the brickwork , Rebuilding of the walls or parapets , rebuilding of staircases & other special elements required .The goal of this project is to regain the space itself, which in these house’s typology could be defined as a body that has been hollowed out by courtyards that evolved into the zoning spaces.
